What about disposal and recycling?

Items that need to be recycled fall into 3 main categories: Traditional Recyclables, Organic Waste and E-Waste.

  • Traditional Recyclables include: paper, metal, glass and plastic, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, and motor oil.

  • Under California’s SB 1383, organic waste must be kept out of landfills to reduce methane gas emissions. This includes food waste, yard waste, food soiled paper, and wood scraps.

  • E-Waste includes: computers, TVs, printers and phones.

What happens to items I don't want to throw away

We work with local businesses that accept donations of some items. In this case, upon request, we will deliver these items to be donated. Please let us know right away which items you want donated.

Will I get a donation receipt?

If usable items are donated on your behalf, the company who received your items will be able to provide you a receipt for tax filing purposes. We do not provide this information as we are just transporting the item for you.

Do I need to be present during the removal?

While preferred, you don't necessarily have to be on-site. Arrangements can be made for contactless pickup if the items are accessible and payment is handled remotely.
